Trudi Bellardo Hahn

Dr. Trudi Bellardo Hahn’s 40-year career of teaching, research, and service in the field of Library and Information Science and Technology included positions on the faculties of Drexel University, University of Maryland, Catholic University of America, and the University of Kentucky. She served as the Executive Director of the U.S. National Commission on Libraries and Information Science, and worked in or with academic libraries, public libraries, and special/corporate/government libraries. Dr. Hahn wrote or edited six books, numerous book chapters, and journal articles in addition to serving on several journal editorial boards. She was awarded the Drexel Service to Profession Award and the University of Kentucky Outstanding Alumna Award, College of Communications and Information Studies, and served as the President of the American Society for Information Science & Technology (ASIS&T) in 2003. In retirement she lives in Alexandria, Virginia and serves on several local boards and the Smithsonian Women’s Committee.
